Troubleshooting
Change your Wi-Fi or reset a forgotten device password while keeping your prayer settings.
These instructions are for a speaker built with the AtomS3R C126 and Pyramid A167. For custom builds, see Other hardware.
Connect for USB recovery
- Unplug the Pyramid’s bottom power cable.
- Connect your computer to the Atom’s USB-C with a data cable.
- Open device setup in desktop Chrome or Edge and choose Fix Wi-Fi or password.
Then choose the change you need:
Change Wi-Fi
Choose Change Wi-Fi. Select your network or enter its name, enter the Wi-Fi password, and select Save Wi-Fi. Wait for confirmation before disconnecting. If the result is uncertain, check the device before trying again.
Reset your password
Choose Reset device password, enter a new device password twice, and select Save device password. The old device password is not needed over USB. If no password is set, choose Create device password.
Wait for confirmation before disconnecting. If confirmation is missing, check the result before attempting another reset.
Password recovery signs out existing sessions. It does not reinstall firmware, reset prayer settings, or erase playback history.
After either change, unplug the Atom’s USB cable and reconnect only the Pyramid’s bottom power. Open the device’s settings on the same home network and sign in as admin.
No device appears
Check that your cable transfers data and is connected to the Atom’s port. Close other browser tabs or serial tools using the device. If you cancelled the browser picker, select the connection button again when ready.
The port is busy or the connection drops
Close other software using the USB port, reconnect the data cable, and start again. Opening or reopening USB has caused temporary Wi-Fi loss on the reference device. Allow time for it to reconnect, then select Refresh status in USB recovery. This checks the connection without changing credentials or reopening USB. Once Wi-Fi is connected and a device password is set, select Open device settings.
The Wi-Fi password did not work
Check the network name and password. Use a 2.4 GHz WPA2/WPA3 personal network, rather than a guest sign-in portal or enterprise network. A rejected connection retains the previous saved credentials.
The result is uncertain
If the connection ends before confirmation, the device may already have saved the change. The installer will not automatically send it again. Reconnect and check status before another change. A connected status alone may describe the previous network; it does not prove an uncertain Wi-Fi change succeeded.
For a password change, check the reported password revision and try signing in with the password you just chose. If you still cannot sign in after checking the device state, choose Reset device password to set a new one.
The device reports a storage fault
Stop making changes and keep the current data. Record the error text without including passwords and request help through the firmware issue tracker. Do not reinstall as a shortcut to repairing credentials.
The settings page will not open
Use the device’s exact address, not a generic openathan.local. Try the IP fallback from USB setup. Keep your phone on the same home network; guest-network isolation can prevent access. An IP address may change after reconnecting, so read it again over USB if needed.
Installation was interrupted
First-time installation is not available yet. If an installation is interrupted, follow the installer’s troubleshooting instructions before trying again. If it says the write was verified but setup could not reconnect, use USB recovery rather than reinstalling. Do not restore an old full-flash backup as routine recovery: it can restore old prayer history.
The browser installer does not yet support firmware upgrades on existing devices.
